Drama:
Erik brings considerable experience, creativity and energy
to the table, providing ideas and a range of personaes that enhance
every production he's a part of.
Erik's theater experience began while he was part
of Community Lutheran Church's singles ministry. He began performing
in small skits that were written by one of his friends in the singles
ministry named, Maurice DeLisle. Erik performed in many of Maurice's
skits, which include "Star
Trek", "The Little Rascals", "Hanz Franz" and
a variety of others.
Erik then performed in the "Passion Play",
a play which depicts story of the crucifiction of Jesus Christ, which
is held every year at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
The Passion Play gathers cast members from over 50 churches in the
LV valley and runs for one week during the Easter holiday.
Erik joined the Drama Guild at Meadows Fellowship in 2001, where he
performed in plays and skits written by Bob Whitely, including: "Survivor:
Wasteland", "Let Me See a Smile", "Twice Born", “Gift
Exchange”, and most recently "What Do You Want, Blood?"
Other ministry and charitable work:
Erik also enjoys volunteer work, his ministry has included
volunteering at Ronald McDonald House, the Boys & Girls Club,
teaching Sunday School at both Community Lutheran Church and Meadows
Fellowship, assisting with feeding the homeless with Meadows Fellowship
and assisting in a project called "Christmas in April",
which involved remodeling homes for families in need.
Erik also looks forward to continuing with his involvement with the "Drama
Guild" at Meadows Fellowship and looks forward to seeing the plays
at the Drama Guild brought to other churches and possibly street perfomances
as the opportunities arise. Erik believes that drama has the power
not only to entertain, but to truly minister to people in a very special
way - drama has a way of ministering through storytelling.
He has seen
many people ask Jesus Christ into thier lives at the altar
call of many of the performances of the Passion Play; this is the goal
of Christian drama, not only to entertain, but to build people up,
to let the Holy Spirit work on people's hearts so that people will
realize their need for Jesus Christ in thier life now and for eternity.
